AI Music Policy
AI music eligibility and rights
What we look for when reviewing AI-generated music for distribution.
Overview
RT AI Distribution is designed for eligible AI-generated music. Eligibility depends on your rights, the tools you used, the content itself and the requirements of distribution partners. All releases remain subject to rights verification, content eligibility, review and distribution-partner requirements.
Rights and ownership
You must be able to confirm that you hold, or are authorised to grant, all rights needed to distribute the release. This includes:
- Rights in the composition, lyrics and recording as applicable.
- Permissions for any samples, loops, stems or third-party material.
- Permission from every contributor named on the release.
AI-generated content
You may be asked to say which AI tools were used and how. Do not submit music that copies or closely reproduces existing recordings or compositions, even if an AI tool generated it.
Commercial-use permissions
Each AI tool has its own terms. Some plans or tools may not allow commercial use or distribution. You are responsible for confirming that the terms of every tool you used permit commercial distribution of your release, and for keeping evidence of that permission.
Voice and likeness
Music that imitates or impersonates the voice, likeness or identifiable style-signature of a real person without their authorisation is not eligible. This includes cloned or sound-alike vocals presented as, or likely to be mistaken for, a real artist.
Content eligibility
Generally eligible

- Tracks from tools whose terms allow commercial use

May need extra review
- Heavy use of samples or third-party material
- Unclear tool terms or ownership

Not eligible
- Voice or likeness impersonation

- Misleading metadata or fraudulent releases
- Unlawful or abusive content
Review and verification
Releases may be reviewed, delayed, rejected or removed if they do not meet this policy or distribution-partner requirements. See the Copyright Policy for infringement reports and the Terms & Conditions. Questions? Contact us.
